At St. George's Chapel in Neiden, a service is held by the Finnish Orthodox Church on the third weekend in August. The water consecration ceremony is an important part of the annual mass. According to tradition, Saint Tryphon blessed the water in the Neiden River. For believers, the water is considered holy, cleansing, and healing.
