Giđđa (spring in Sami)
April-May. Snow-covered white landscape and the sun begins to warm. Reindeer migrate down to the calving grounds by the coast, and migratory birds return. For the Coastal Sámi in the area, this is the time to prepare moorings and nets for sea fishing for salmon. This is a great time for ski or snowmobile trips to frozen lakes in the area. Holes are drilled in the ice, and with a jig, one can catch fine arctic char and trout.
