Giđđageassi (spring summer in Sami)

May-June. Forest and heather turn green. It is calving time for the reindeer. The birds retreat. The seagull lays eggs and has traditionally been an important addition to the food supply. June 1, it opens for salmon fishing in the Neiden river. The opening gets a lot of attention with many spectators, and everyone is waiting to see who gets the first salmon. Fishing for salmon in the sea with hook nets and seines is especially important for the Sea Sami in the area.
